we have done some work on these slides we will add more because it isn't finish.

Barriers

Today we read a poem and we were figuring out why it was named that and what it was about there were different questions and we answered them it was named barriers because it was Maori person saying Kia Ora and her name then the other person not knowing and getting it wrong and it is a barrier in between different cultures that is what it means.

Yr 7&8 Extension

 

Today we had to put our thoughts into what we needed to do or what we have already done if earth would die in 12 months. We worked on this today and we had to work out many different things I could do a lot more than I put in there but a lot of the things were put down but if that did then I do think Elon musk could help us and a lot of other rich people.

Streets for everyone

 

We had to work on this which was some points we had to fix or improve to put our treasure hunt. also what we had to put in like the name and where the location. my group had a pretty tricky time with what the clues will be and what the locations will be.

Treasure hunt for Extension

We had to figure out how to do a treasure hut we planned it by going around the street and we had good places to put the clues and where the treasure is and what the name should be. we went out with tony and bhav to look around to think of what we will install around the place. the difficult part was planning what we will do and how we will do it.

Activity 1: Togs or Trackies? summer learning journey

I would let tourists come to New Zealand in summer because it is one of the best seasons to get out and explore in the woods or something else. I love summer it is really fun, it is so hot that you go outside more often. Especially when you go to the beach and woods to take snapshots of different animals. Summer is also when tourists do all there stuff.

Activity 3: Faded Glory Summer learning journey

I had to list three different ideas or strategies for raising funds to preserve the Great Barrier Reef. Then I had to think of what I could do to fund raise here in New Zealand? 

I would like to give money to get divers and change the problem that happen.

And my ideas would 

1. be to get a notice that you can have a dive to fix the problem that happen,
2. to dive and fix the problem myself,
3. to get a net and get the stuff out.

Activity 2: The Black Drain Summer learning journey

I have to find two other polluted rivers with Tarawera River and i have to find out there names the location (place) and what is being done to clean it up.


Tarawera River is in New Zealand, people are trying to get algae out of the river.


Gerard Hutching river is in New Zealand they are taking Kayak and boats to get rubbish out.

Sarno River is in Italy and they are doing some notices if anybody would like to help clean it.

I think people shouldn't over fish rivers and lakes because there won't be any more fish in the rivers and lakes. Fish are not alive for us to catch and eat but have there own life and family by over fishing they don't lay eggs and produce more fish. 100 000 dollars is a lot of money but it will stopfisher men and women killng all the fish. I had to choose a picture and write a short story about what you think is happening in the picture. Where i think the people are and what you think they were doing. This is my picture that i chose.

 I think he is in Rio because he is on the statue of Jesus. i think he is on Jesus to take a selfie that he is high in the air. He is showing off that he is on the statue of Jesus. He is on the head of the statue Jesus and we can see the arm. He is also showing all the buildings in Rio.

The option I would take is boat because if I took a boat is because you could have a safe journey. It  would be harder for me to walk to get to Milford Sound and a helicopter will be dangerous.

Activity 3: The Midnight Zone summer learning journey

i think that there should only be adults and i worked it out by dividing 500 by 25 which equals 20.  There needs to be 20 adults to carry the big heavy squid. For the children it is 34 four because 500 kilograms divided by 15 comes to 33.3 (1dp).  You can't have a third of a child and expect it to be alive.

Today my food is going to be baked beans with melted cheese on toast.

The first ingredients

1. is put bread in the toaster
2. put baked beans in a saucepan heat medium and add cheese 
3. Occasionally stir beans and cheese until the cheese is all melted
4. pour beans on the toast and eat it.

i am not an Night Owl i am not a early riser my step Brother is kind of the same as me he doesn't wake up early and he doesn't stay up late. My Sister is not a Night Owl but she usually wakes up before me but she doesn't wake up at 6:00 am or something earlier. My little Brother is the same as me he not a Night Owl he does not wake up early. My little step Brother is the same as me he not a Night Owl he does not wake up early. My Dad and my step Mum is not a Night Owl they do not wake up early.

My person that is strong and tough is my Dad. He is a full grown man of six foot tall. He looks after our family of four boys and one girl. He is strong because he is fit and cycles with all the family.

One day we all cycled to the dog park and  around the dog park (3 kms).

3. i think like most plants Hydnellum peckii need water and warm temperature to survive

Hydnellum peckii is a special type of fungi that produce blood or juice like fluid on its surface. This plant is also known as ‘bleeding tooth fungus’. It is the Scarlet pigment causes blood like the color on the fluid of this plant. This strange plant mainly found across North America and Europe. It is edible, but the blood like fluid is extremely bitter in taste.

Differences

1.  Rafflesia arnoldii lives in forests of Sumatra
2. this plant produces an unpleasant irritating smell
3. Rafflesia arnoldii is the biggest individual flower in the world

Similarities

1. they're both strange plants

3. i think like most plants Rafflesia arnoldii need water and warm temperature to survive

Rafflesia arnoldii is the biggest individual flower in the world. In fact, it is smaller than corpse flower by considering some elements. It is mainly found in forests of Sumatra. Rafflesia will grow up to a size of three feet. Like corpse flower, the plant produces an unpleasant irritating smell. Rafflesia arnoldii is unisexual, have both male and female reproduction system.
