Year 8 reflection

 This year has been so fun going to camp being a prefect I am going to miss Point England it has been so fun making friends learning through the past 8 years being here. They have helped me overcome some of my fears also they taught me to participate i used to be so shy but now i am confident i am ready for my next year. They have taught me well for the past 8 years i have had so much fun at the trips mainly the camps thank you Point England school for what you have done for me.

Literacy planet

 I Think literacy planet is good it is just like math whizz but with literacy it teaches you new things it improves your mindset it makes you think a different way. The more work you do the more points you get and you want to try your best until you have got no more but it is endless the teacher can give you more work and on different levels. It is from yr 1 to yr 11 levels they are quite interesting and the fun of competing with points is making it a lot funner and challenging. You also get gems which allows you to customize your character. There is a percent on how you do you want to aim to get 100%. There is three categories spelling, comprehension and grammar it is a very fun tool to use. There are practises and different things to help you before you get your final result this is why I think it is good. this is how many gems I have:

Attitude talk

Today we had an attitude talk with Robbie and charlie. in separating the girls and boys we talked about  how valuable we are and who we can trust also how our bodies are changing. we are valuable because of the way we are different they basically told us to not try be a different person and be yourself in ea good way. they were talking a bit about there childhoods and how they were different and how there friends knew they were weird they still liked him. it was really funny it was crack up listening to there jokes.

DMIC work

Task description: we had to measure people with wooden spoons and the distance Mr Jay cycled every week.

Bar And Histogram

We had to do some bar and histogram work all we had to do was make a graph answer some question on it and then post it on our blog.

Introduction and conclusion.

Task description: we had to do a conclusion and an introduction for different pictures and watch some videos this is to help with a writing test.

He Aha te utu?

Task Description: I did this task using the kupu hoe and saying how much it cost we could give it any price but on most of them i gave the price on how many there were.

Sentence Structure

Task Description: Today we went to different google meets, we learnt more writing features and punctuation for an upcoming test. I know this will help me, because I have learnt a lot about how to use good sentence structure. This test will be a lot easier now that I have learnt this.

Hauora

 Today we had were doing a Hauora meet all i need to do is say what we did we were talking about two phrases and it was talking about something similar to lockdown and how people feel about it. it was anxiety and stress.

Area and Volume

I did this for today's maths we had to find out the area and perimeter this was difficult but i got there in the end.

Descriptions of paintings

 

As the extremely athletic Basketball play takes two steps closer to the hoop while he is soaring through the air. As he reaches the right height he starts to raise his and in mid air, someone else jumps up from  the other team with extraordinary power and height he is there to block but the person with the ball is there and not giving up he slams on the hoop right pass the person blocking looking down on him as he looks at the time. The crowd goes wild he scored a buzzer beater with the win by one point.

Picture and Tally Charts

 

Task Description: Today we had to choose our work and i chose picture and tally charts all i had to do was follow what was on slide two and put it on a piece of paper then i took a photo of it and this is my work hope you enjoy.

Hauora

Today we did a Hauora meet all we did was have a chat then Mr Moran was saying different people that we trusted to give us information about Covid. the first person is Jacinda Arden she is one of the best people to gather details on Covid also the Government and Ministers and lastly your family but if they are giving you the wrong information for example the vaccination is bad just so everybody knows the vaccination is good.

Two way probability

Task Description: we had to do this task for the day then we finished maths the 1st thing we did was to order the number in a 2 way probability chart and how much there was then we had to put the numbers of the yr 8 and yr 7 students that wanted to play netball or basketball. then we had to add a chart into a bar graph so the pink and blue is the key for boy and girl. it was empty and I had to add in the information.

Ko wai hoa

Today we did this task in our meet and this is all we had to do: we had to have a look at our kupu ho and then we had to fill in the speech bubbles then we had to make our own speech bubble thing.

Literacy

 

Today we had to choose between narrative writing or persuasive, explanation and a recount i chose narrative we had to act like we were in Tuvalu and this is my writing.

Tuvalu

 

We had to do more of the task we had to research history on Tuvalu and list five facts isn't it amazing that only 0.6 percent of Tuvalu isn't Tuvaluan.

Today we had to do one slide where we had to translate the Tuvaluan greetings into English so that was the first slide we had to do.

Tuvalu Language week

today i had to do some maths work since it is Tuvaluan language week our teachers made some work on Tuvalu.
