Year 8 reflection

 This year has been so fun going to camp being a prefect I am going to miss Point England it has been so fun making friends learning through the past 8 years being here. They have helped me overcome some of my fears also they taught me to participate i used to be so shy but now i am confident i am ready for my next year. They have taught me well for the past 8 years i have had so much fun at the trips mainly the camps thank you Point England school for what you have done for me.

Literacy planet

 I Think literacy planet is good it is just like math whizz but with literacy it teaches you new things it improves your mindset it makes you think a different way. The more work you do the more points you get and you want to try your best until you have got no more but it is endless the teacher can give you more work and on different levels. It is from yr 1 to yr 11 levels they are quite interesting and the fun of competing with points is making it a lot funner and challenging. You also get gems which allows you to customize your character. There is a percent on how you do you want to aim to get 100%. There is three categories spelling, comprehension and grammar it is a very fun tool to use. There are practises and different things to help you before you get your final result this is why I think it is good. this is how many gems I have:

Literacy planet

Hello i am coming first in literacy planet and this is my amount of gems i have from winning.

DMIC work

Task description: we had to measure people with wooden spoons and the distance Mr Jay cycled every week.

Bar And Histogram

We had to do some bar and histogram work all we had to do was make a graph answer some question on it and then post it on our blog.

Area and Volume

I did this for today's maths we had to find out the area and perimeter this was difficult but i got there in the end.

Descriptions of paintings

 

As the extremely athletic Basketball play takes two steps closer to the hoop while he is soaring through the air. As he reaches the right height he starts to raise his and in mid air, someone else jumps up from  the other team with extraordinary power and height he is there to block but the person with the ball is there and not giving up he slams on the hoop right pass the person blocking looking down on him as he looks at the time. The crowd goes wild he scored a buzzer beater with the win by one point.

Picture and Tally Charts

 

Task Description: Today we had to choose our work and i chose picture and tally charts all i had to do was follow what was on slide two and put it on a piece of paper then i took a photo of it and this is my work hope you enjoy.

Two way probability

Task Description: we had to do this task for the day then we finished maths the 1st thing we did was to order the number in a 2 way probability chart and how much there was then we had to put the numbers of the yr 8 and yr 7 students that wanted to play netball or basketball. then we had to add a chart into a bar graph so the pink and blue is the key for boy and girl. it was empty and I had to add in the information.

Literacy

 

Today we had to choose between narrative writing or persuasive, explanation and a recount i chose narrative we had to act like we were in Tuvalu and this is my writing.

Tuvalu

 

We had to do more of the task we had to research history on Tuvalu and list five facts isn't it amazing that only 0.6 percent of Tuvalu isn't Tuvaluan.

literacy

Today we had to do one slide where we had to translate the Tuvaluan greetings into English so that was the first slide we had to do.

Tuvalu Language week

today i had to do some maths work since it is Tuvaluan language week our teachers made some work on Tuvalu.

Pythagorean theorem

we did a lot of right angle triangles working out but i got through in the end i did get some help  on the end by my step mum.

Waka Waka (this time for africa)

we had to do this slide about waka waka which is a just dance song we had to do research on it and this is my slides about it.

Intro to Pythagorean theorem

we had to learn about the lengths and area of the right angle triangle. this is like an easier version of the missing lengths.

Missing lengths

we had to do these missing lengths all we had to do was find out the length of one side that we don't know and this is it.

Language Arts

Task Description: We had learn more about figurative language we had to put them in our own sentences these slide were just the second part of our work on the meet we did an Edpuzzle and i got them all right the whole class would of got it right but miss hall did a mistake so everyone voted for miss halls answer.

Crime scene

we had to use math to figure out the crime scene by getting there favourite number to see which one did the crime scene.

Story starter part 8 (Lucky Last)

 I had to write a quick story about a sheep that was purple and liked to swim. so one time there was a purple sheep he liked to swim he liked swimming so much he even competed with natural swimmers in races he won nearly all of them one time he was racing fish to the bottom of the ocean and back up to the surface but the sheep couldn't swim down cause it floats and swims forwards it can't go down the end
