Activity 1: In the Beginning. Summer learning journey

My first fun fact for New Zealand is based on 'God saved the Queen' is a national anthem for Britian and for New Zealand. There are two words that I didn't know what there meaning was, one of the word is reign i now know it means it means rule as King/Queen. The other word is knavish which means dishonest.

The sky tower is in New Zealand and it is 328 meters high it is a great view my great grand dad helped them to draw the sky tower for a better look, my great grand dad was an architect which means he draws buildings and helps them make it.

My last fun fact is a third of New Zealand is forest.

  1. Kia ora Kauri and welcome back to the Summer Learning Journey programme for this year. We are thrilled that you are participating and that you've already completed 10 activities. Wow! That's awesome.

We are really looking forward to reading your posts and to learning new things about New Zealand and the rest of the world as we make our way through the programme. As you know, there are 60 different activities to choose from and you will earn points for every single one that you complete.

Speaking of completing activities, I really enjoyed this first activity that you posted. I had no idea that your grandfather was an architect and that he had a role in the design of the Sky Tower. That is quite amazing as it is an iconic building in both Auckland and in New Zealand, as a country.

Please keep sharing your cool facts with us over the next five weeks. We'll see you online again soon, I hope!

    Cheers,
    Rachel (and the SLJ team)
