Art Expedition

Art Walk - why? when? how?

Favourite piece

Today we went on an art expedition. We went on an art expo because it was Art alive theme this year so all we did is we placed out all of our art and went around. We had to walk around the school. our last class we went to was the year 2s place, my favourite art piece was painting on the windows and we saw some interesting stuff like dollar signs  we also saw some Indian elephants they were very interesting.  


i liked the elephant art because they used crayons and it was very good how it ended up. so my classes art was wired stick men covered in masking tape covered in paper Mache' and plaster of Paris and then we painted over it.

Famous Protester

Kate Sheppard was born in 1847 in England she moved to New Zealand. She is famous for women's suffrage petition.


Who is Kate Sheppard?

Kate Sheppard is a Famous protester who protested for women’s rights she fought her whole life for women’s rights. She tried her hardest she was famous so people agreed mostly women because they want women to be able to do stuff to. She was a talented writer and a powerful speaker, in her age of New Zealand women got less rights than men did they weren’t aloud to vote they had to do less then men. 


Did Kate Sheppard succeed first try? 

Before Kate Sheppard protest she talked to New Zealand and put it on the news paper to make it out there it took six years to talk and do news paper.Kate Sheppard lost her first petition in 1891 but she tried again and collected more signatures another petition in 1892 was unsuccessful but in 1893 she convinced 32 000 people to sign. They had so many signatures that they had to carry it in a wheel barrow she won the third petition and it took 3 years to do and now women can vote.


How long did Kate Sheppard protest?

It took 3 years for Kate Sheppard to protest but it took six years for her to go around New Zealand to talk and write newspapers and articles. So it took her 9 years in total to protest and she finally succeeded did it work yes she had a lot of supporters and she was the leader. New Zealand was the first country to do women rights.


Kate Sheppard is a good person overall this has changed the world for everybody and she has aloud women to vote in the world.

Protests Racism

 Racism was a big problem because dark people were the second class so the white people were taking stuff that the dark people can't use so they would just have to wait for the white people first. so they protest about how the dark people have to wait for the white people first like what happen to Rosa Parks she sat in a seat and some white person said to get off and she refused and went to jail and her friends got her out of jail with money. so they boycotted the buses and some people had to walk miles to get to there work. so that was the solution of the problem they had so the buses had no money because of the people boycotting.

Why do we need school?

 Why do we need school?


Introduction: 

Do we really need school? primary School is a place where children 5 to 13 go to be educated for the future that is coming. Why we need school we need to go to school to learn, to get a job and to make friends.


Body paragraph 1:

Learning at school

Children go to school to learn. Children have to learn if they don’t learn they will have a hard time. Learning at school is the easiest way to teach children. When you learn at school you could probably learn more than you ever will by yourself. Learning at school could change your future positively. So this is why we need school.



Body paragraph 2:

Stepping up to change your future

School doesn’t just teach us reading and stuff it helps us with confidents. Like they take us to camp you can be a leader. Or you can be a big step up like the year 7 step up programme. Year 8 leadership camp and that is just about stepping up. You can step up for a job like governmental problem you can step up or in a meeting

you can speak up. So this is why stepping up can change your future.

We make friends at school

School also lets us make friends it’s not just learning. Friends are very important, when you have friends you can buddy up with them. Friends also help you through hard times. When the teacher peers you up you make friends. And when you make friends it is easier to do things friends are also a socializing exercise. So friends are good for school.



Conclusion:

So school is a very important place it will give children advanced knowledge they will be intelligent beings so this is why we need school. Are you going to school?

My Reflection of book

So read a book that was called avengers and this is a book about the movie when loki takes the tesseract and tries to take te world in his command and he fight the avengers but also take control of hawkeye and he helps loki but nick fury was stopping them and maria hill was thinking that they were in her team but then nick fury warned her and she just dived for cover when hawkeye shot his arrow and they drove away and she drove after them and slowed them down but they got away with the tesseract but the whole of S.H.I.E.L.D collapsed on itself.that is where i got up to in the book and this is just a reflection of the story.

The quest


Task Description: we had to read the text the Quest by Leith Cooper and then say what it was about. In The Quest there was a footy game and at the end of the game there was an old man looking for something he looked through all of the discarded rubbish. He found the thing in the middle of the rubbish and it was in an apple because it was false teeth and he bit into the apple.


We also practiced our grammar by highlight words and we described the sentences. We started learning about inferences so we inference what the image was about.

Year 7 step up

Last week we had a step up programme when the year 8's went to camp i was a substitute prefect. We practise all week and when we did the step up programme we got into groups. We had to help the teachers and make chants and make the names for the groups i was strikers. we also did sports and i was in for ball rush and i got most of them because i got chosen to help the girls.

my second reflection.

i have only read five more pages about the book but i have to tell you this bit she doesn't know who she really is. She think she is other people her age because she hasn't been herself she thinks she is this dumb person. She just can't answer any questions even 7 x 4 and that is easy it is 28. I still highly recommend it for you guys I think it is better the the movie.

This is my reflection on the book i am reading Alice's adventure in wonderland i have read just to page 30. It is cool o far and she is trying to get through the door near the glass table when she chases a rabbit. I highly recommend this because it has a lot of adventure even just in the start it took me a long time to read this part because i wanted to really understand the words and there are a lot of words.

What we do on Matariki
