Famous Protester

Kate Sheppard was born in 1847 in England she moved to New Zealand. She is famous for women's suffrage petition.


Who is Kate Sheppard?

Kate Sheppard is a Famous protester who protested for women’s rights she fought her whole life for women’s rights. She tried her hardest she was famous so people agreed mostly women because they want women to be able to do stuff to. She was a talented writer and a powerful speaker, in her age of New Zealand women got less rights than men did they weren’t aloud to vote they had to do less then men. 


Did Kate Sheppard succeed first try? 

Before Kate Sheppard protest she talked to New Zealand and put it on the news paper to make it out there it took six years to talk and do news paper.Kate Sheppard lost her first petition in 1891 but she tried again and collected more signatures another petition in 1892 was unsuccessful but in 1893 she convinced 32 000 people to sign. They had so many signatures that they had to carry it in a wheel barrow she won the third petition and it took 3 years to do and now women can vote.


How long did Kate Sheppard protest?

It took 3 years for Kate Sheppard to protest but it took six years for her to go around New Zealand to talk and write newspapers and articles. So it took her 9 years in total to protest and she finally succeeded did it work yes she had a lot of supporters and she was the leader. New Zealand was the first country to do women rights.


Kate Sheppard is a good person overall this has changed the world for everybody and she has aloud women to vote in the world.
